Some words about the Music by Markus Kohlprath- Founder and Composer of "THE SINGING UNIVERSE"

I like to view the music of "THE SINGING UNIVERSE" as "Natural Music". Music that doesn't feel out of place in a natural environment and that embeds itself harmoniously into  sounds of nature and expresses what we feel within when we are in nature. Pristine nature is colorful, infinitely rich in variety, calm as well as powerful. So is the music from "THE SINGING UNIVERSE".

Like evolution on earth is a never ending story of growth and decay, of love and development the music tells these stories with passion as a soundtrack to natures stories and aesthetics.

We, the creators of the content, use all the techniques that are available to us nowadays to help bring out the vision as clearly as possible but we don't want machines to make the music for us. So we use as much as possible acoustic orchestral and ethnic  instruments, guitars and percussion played by real musicians and use the electronics to enrich the sound and the experience.

The music might be described as neo-classical, impressionistic, cinematic, sometimes big, sometimes small and intimate, sometimes epic and sometimes ambient. It is often lighthearted and ethereal, rather wings and flows than music with a stomping heavy beat. You can listen to it, dream to it, learn or meditate to it.

It was an enlightening experience for me the first time I composed while listening to natural sounds I had recorded in a nearby wood- the Spessart, one of Europes biggest woods. There is an inherent rhythm in nature. Going with it and letting the music flow with it brings a totally different, for me almost magical, approach to the  rhythmic feel and expression. Some pieces from our albums came into existence with this technique. The sounds are an integral part of the music and not just an ambient feature.

Hopefully you dear reader/listener can relate to the music, films and the whole concept of "The Singing Universe"  and enjoy it. If you want to support it through buying the products, telling your friends or donate to certain projects we will very much appreciate it. To help us grow and bring a new facet to the world of music and arts.
