I had the honour of creating the soundtrack for this wonderful documentary about the life and teachings of the pioneering marine biologist and evolutionary researcher. A very nice task, as Rupert Riedl's message that it is important to preserve nature and conserve resources is very much in line with my attitude towards nature and animals.
The premiere at the Vienna Künstlerhaus cinema on 14 May 2025 was an unforgettable experience.

Eine sehr schöne Aufgabe, da die Botschaft Rupert Riedls, dass es wichtig ist die Natur zu bewahren und Ressourcen zu schonen sehr mit meiner Einstellung zu Natur und TIeren übereinstimmt.

The great Animal Orchestra- finding the Origins of Music in the Worlds wild Places by Bernie Krause
This book was one of the key inspirations for the idea of creating "THE SINGING UNIVERSE". It reveals the fact that our listening habits and preferences are deeply connected to natural sounds. There is a connection between the frequencies that are produced by an orchestra or a band and the frequencies that we hear in natural environment when it is not changed or harmed by human activities. In healthy and intact nature we can experience a rich and balanced soundscape which usually creates a good and calming feeling to the listener. This is no surprise, since it has been the home for humans for thousands of years.
Bernie Krause recorded a big collection of field recordings and natural soundscapes from all over the world. Many of which cannot be heard anymore because of the destruction of the environment. At the website "Wild Sanctuary" samples of these recordings can be heard and you can purchase a lot of different soundscape albums.

The books of Peter Wohlleben, a german forester, can open up your eyes on how much is going on in forests and nature. About the communication between plants and animals and how much life forms interact with each other and how much we all benefit from this interaction. After reading this books a walk through the wood becomes a more intense experience.
In the "Waldakademie" in Germany Peter Wohlleben provides coaching, training and seminars on the subject.
There are many more books by Peter Wohlleben that are well worth reading.
He also made the documentary "The Hidden Life of the Trees" which can be viewed on Netflix.
